It was a cold but dry Saturday afternoon when about 180 Companions, wives and friends gathered in The Church of St John the Baptist in Glastonbury. The ceremony was conducted by Revd David MacGeogh and he welcomed the MEGS D John Bennett and the rest of the congregation.

MEGS then said a few words of welcome and gave thanks to all that had helped in the organisation of the service and the teas after. The Choir of St Cecelia, accompanied by ladies, sang the opening carol, followed by all singing seven carols, interspersed by readings from eminent companions.

During the last carol a collection was taken to be shared between The Church of St John the Baptist and Somerset RA Charities.
Following the service the congregation adjourned to the Glastonbury Masonic hall, a short walk from the church, for tea and mince pies.
