The 111th meeting of King Alfred Chapter began with the procession welcoming Excellent Companion Barry Woodside (Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent), Chris Moore (PrGDC), Neil Arthur (PrGStB) and John Trowbridge (PrGStwd).
Two Principal Officers were re-elected for the ensuing year in a relatively short ceremony, Excellent Companion Tony Wilsher-Day as MEZ; Excellent Companion Jeremy Thomas as H; and Excellent Companion Sandy Glen was inducted as J.
The Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent then presented a Grand Chapter Certificate to Companion Glen Saunders with a very interesting presentation.
During the risings, the Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent annnounced that the Provincial Steward lapel badges were being replaced with new badges, and suprised the convocation by presenting four past Stewards with new badges. Here we see badges presented to Excellent Companions Ian White, Arthur Rowe and Simon Sparkes, with David Mallinson unfortunately absent.
Given that the actual installation was short, the Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent was slightly bemused that after his Grand Chapter Certificate, Address to the Principals, presentation of the collarette to the Liaison Officer, and rising comments, he must surely have spoken the most in the meeting!
Here we see the installed Principals with Barry Woodside, Deputy Provincial Grand Superintendent, Chris Moore (PrGDC), Neil Arthur (PrGStB) and John Trowbridge (PrGStwd).
After the meeting the companions settled down to an excellent meal and a chance to continue friendships.
